Herding...

On Sunday the 5th of March Jonni and I went to Kitee, about 70kms from us. There lives Minna Eronen, who trains border collies for herding. She has sheep and also beef cattle. Her breeding cows were having an outing when Jonni and I arrived. Jonni tried herding with sheep but these sheep were not used to a barking herder so they fled several times, which caused Jonni to chase them and that made the sheep scatter all over the place. Minna had a border collie near by so he went and collected the sheep if Jonni made them escape.

We had a go at the cows and that seemed to suit Jonni better. He is such a "pushy" dog and he puts too much pressure on the things he herds so he might be better suited to herd cows...

We had a nice day out and we are definitely going there again !!! And next time Bella is coming with us !
